A registered nurse with specialized experience in catheterization labs is needed for a contract opportunity in Charleston, SC, working within a busy, technologically advanced cardiac catheterization unit. This role supports a hospital with two cath labs performing approximately 10 cases daily, utilizing state-of-the-art GE x-ray equipment and electronic documentation systems such as MacLab and Meditech.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the cath lab including preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure support.
- Assist with and monitor invasive cardiac procedures such as LHC, PCI, TAVR, PPM implantation, Impella device management, and IABP.
- Administer emergency medications accurately and swiftly when required.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintain compliance with nursing protocols and documentation standards.
- Work scheduled shifts including every other weekend and holiday rotations as per hospital policy.
- Participate in 7 to 9 call days monthly, including at least one weekend call per month.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year cath lab nursing experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of emergency medications used in cardiac care.
- Comfortable with high-acuity cardiac procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience with GE x-ray imaging and electronic documentation systems like MacLab and Meditech is a plus.
